Overview
The Meeting and Event Venue Chapter provides a platform for tourism businesses to network and exchange information and ideas to benefit tourism businesses in Tshwane.
Meeting and Event Venue key objectives
- Establish chapter comprising of all meeting & event venues, event organisers and suppliers in the city and establish chapter committee with terms of reference
- Determine needs from chapter members, compile and implement action plan to address needs
- Establish relationships, regular meetings and formal structures between chapter and national, provincial and city government event bureaus and national event industry associations
- Run education and information campaign for all TTA members on bidding for, and hosting, events, in particular, sporting events, international trade shows and association congresses
- Lobby for, and participate in, destination marketing planning and execution by national, provincial and local government
- Run an education and information campaign for all TTA members on city Joint Operations Centre (JoC) and other safety and security structure requirements for events.
- Work with the City Council to develop a web-page on the Council web site to facilitate easy and seamless processes to host events in the City of Tshwane.
