Have an adventure at the Harties Aerial Cableway
The Harties Aerial Cableway is an adventure property with one of two aerial cableways in South Africa, the other being the Cape Town Cableway.
Swiss designed and installed gondolas seating a maximum of six guests transfer visitors to the top of the mountain. The very scenic trip takes approximately 6 minutes, travelling above a nature reserve where one could possibly see Giraffe, Zebra and small antelope. At the top of the mountain several express eateries serve pizzas, hamburgers, salads, platters, grills and ice cream.
The famous Lookout Bar, offering delicious cocktails and beverages, is situated next to the top station, overlooking the eastern side of the region,
The Dassie Walk is a 1200 metre walkway which takes you around the circumference of the mountain top and provides informative way point information along the routes.
The Harties information centre at the bottom of the mountain will can assist with accommodation referrals, day activities, weekend gateways as well as spa and team building packages.
The rates for the cableway are R210 per adult and R 130 per child and R125 for pensioners.
Interesting facts
The Cableway cable is 2400 metres (2.4 km) in height above sea level. Altitude from the base station is 345 metres.
The top mountain restaurants are self – service express outlets (no waitron service).
The 360 Express cafeteria provides self-service dining with items ranging from confectionery to light meals and beverages.
The Pizza Shack offers a variety of wood fired artisanal pizzas with a self–service grab and go style of dining.
An ice cream shop is situated alongside the well–equipped and popular kiddies play area.
A cocktail bar, Lookout Bar, is constructed on the edge of the mountain with magnificent panoramic views of the region. A variety of gins, beers, vodkas, whiskies and cocktails await the visitor. There is live entertainment at the Lookout Bar on weekends whilst guests take in the breath-taking view.
The Little Shop at the Top sells curio and novelty gift items.
Rolling lush lawns for picnics are situated adjacent to the Pizza Shack with a clear line of sight to the kiddies play area.
Packages for special occasions are available by pre-arrangement. The venue is perfect for proposals, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.
Tickets can be purchased online or on arrival at the ticket office.
The bottom station restaurant, Hero’s Grillhouse Pizzeria, is a full-service restaurant with an à la carte menu.
The management regrets that no food, drinks or pets may be brought to the Cableway.
Visitors should note that the Harties Cableway is at the mercy of mother nature from time to time, which may curtail operations during inclement weather conditions

The “Business Excellence Awards” is an integral part of the CCBC’s Prestige Gala taking place on Thursday, 24 October at the Sun Arena at Time Square. This year’s theme will be “Saluting the Entrepreneur” within the following industries:

- Manufacturing
- Property and infrastructure
- Tourism
The adjudication process will focus on:
- Entrepreneurship (what makes the business unique)
- Profitability and financial viability
- Client service and impact on community elements of each business
- Looking for the “unique” ways in which the needs of customers and the surrounding community’s needs have been considered, ultimately assisting with creating the “unique” environment which will allow all to successfully grow and prosper.

- Audio-visual presentation of each winner at the Gala Dinner
- Award in cash to the value of R10 000 to each winner

Ritsako Game Lodge – Wining in the Wild 2019
Ritsako Game Lodge will be hosting their annual Wine Show again this year on Saturday, 19 October 2019.
An entrance ticket of R200 per person and R100 for children under 12 gets you a complimentary wine tasting glass and a self-braai meal. A live band and DJ will entertain the crowds and there are ample activities for children such as face painting, a color-in competition, and jumping castles at the kids’ zone.
The Game Lodge has packaged special discounted accommodation rates for the Wine Show and optional activities such as a Game Drive in the only Big Five game reserve in Gauteng.
