Overview
The Education Chapter provides a platform for education institutions and facilities to network and exchange information and ideas to the benefit of everyone.
TTA Education and Training Chapter key objectives
- Developing a recruitment facility on the website where members can advertise their recruitment needs and prospective employees can submit their CV’s on templates designed to enable efficient and effective communication between the concerned parties.
- Communicating opportunities for Work Integrated Learning (WIL) for learners to enable them to complete the practical components of their vocational studies.
- Upliftment of the food and beverage service component in the Tshwane hospitality and tourism industry through developing a training academy that will provide standard requirements and grading principles for the procurement of food and beverage attendants (old term – waiters). Research to be done among current staff members, identify the gaps, develop a training map for current and prospective employees and communicate availability of such candidates to employers. Buy-in of prospective employers is of utmost importance and therefore this chapter will co-opt influential industry members to assist with the designing and implementation of such a programme.
- Once a model is developed and successfully implemented for the food & beverage departments, a similar approach can be followed for housekeeping and front office staff.
